Module 1: Records management

Goal:
Learn to build the components and processes of a records management system, and after to implement it in Enterprise Content Management technology (ECM).
 

Contents:
The core of an information governance system is the appropriate management of documents and data in any format and support, throughout their life cycle. This module enables the student, with an absolutely practical methodology, to be able to design, build and implement a complete records management system, using the main methodological references (ISO 15489/30300/16175, GARP, etc..) and more usual technology in the market (ECM / ERM, CMIS, etc.). The contents of the module are:

  • Core concepts of records management
  • Methodological models and standards for records management
  • Typical structure and processes of organizations
  • Design of a records management system: phases and development
  • Implementation on ECM technologies: phases and development
  • Capture technologies: digitisation, email capture and electronic forms
  • Systems security and digital authenticity and integrity
  • eGovernment and eCommerce services
  • Physical storage management
  • Digital continuity and long term preservation

 

Credits:
20 credits.
